Track: North East Band Irked Share Debut Single ‘Backstreets’

Formed in 2022, Irked are a punk band from Tyne and Wear who make snotty, noisy, radge music. They have quickly gained attention from the UK underground, as veterans of the UK DIY/underground music scene. They shared the video for their debut single ‘Backseats’, an “upfront and confrontational track about the creeps who linger around your local music scene, where problematic behaviour isn’t policed.”

A shock to the senses in this anarchy-filled noise fest. Tortured strings and vocal chords as the lyrics are spat in a torrential downpour over the raking 100mph riffery. Not content with battering the listener around the head, the band clearly has important things to say as proven by the spoken monologue done with a deep North East accent. Perfection.
