Track: Sam Himself Shares Reflective Yet Pulsing New Single ‘Never Let Me Go’

The first single of Sam Himself’s upcoming second album which is slated for 2023, ‘Never Let Me Go’ offers intimate vocals over a pulsing indie-electronic soundscape.

Somewhere between Future Islands and The Verve, the track is nerving and affecting yet danceable offering a depth of emotion – a cautious sense of hope doused in a downbeat reflective tone. Anthemic yet close and personal, Sam’s boxy, melancholic vocal delivery tops an otherwise uplifting blend of instrumentation giving a moody, haunting edge.

Inspired by the pandemic and the gradual regrowth of society (and the music industry) since, the track and new video capture an eery, dark and beautiful tone which perfectly treads the thin line between joy and despair.

Accompanied by a fittingly dystopian video showing Sam explore and dance in abandoned locations, ‘Never Let Me Go’s visuals perfectly match the tracks message as well as free and romantic spirit within the track.
