Track: The Mighty One – Burden

Written over 20 years ago by frontman Tim Steinruck, guitarist Scott Enns and their close friend and drummer Jeff Worobec, ‘Burden’ only saw the light of day with the album release of Torch Of Rock and Roll earlier in 2020,
after Worobec tragically passed away from cancer in 2016.

Tim Steinruck explains:

“Raw, upfront, and personal. We officially invite you into our world. A world where we let go of our burdens. Enjoy this song and video. My hope is that it will inspire you to let go of something in your life that you don’t need anymore.”

Deeply emotional with heavy brooding tense verses of pounding drums and dark thunderous bass. The guitars are minimal at first, picked out chords and repeated notes, but come on strong on the chorus and interludes where the sound crashes out your speakers. A tinkling of piano brings the track to a close as where it runs round your head for the rest of the day.
