Capricorn Coast band Tidal Peak has just released another expansive, glittering single in the form of ‘Wilderness’. Exhibiting the same sort of ear The Lightning Seeds have for bittersweet melodies with an anthemic glow, this is a glorious track borne on a pounding percussion and instruments that are rich and luscious.
The work of musician/producer Kyle Lacko, the track reflects the geography of his home, a sequel in a sense to his previous single ‘Coasting’ (reviewed by me here) – seeped in nostalgia as he sings pining for that same girl and realising that through the years, we’ve all changed/’cause nothing ever stays the same.
