2024 marks the 20th Anniversary of Sister 9 Recordings, and to celebrate they have all manner of exciting things going on. BSM brings you the premiere of the first of two of Dolium’s AA video singles, ‘La Faga Ragazza’. The second will follow next week, so watch this space if you like what you see…
The label will release a release a limited edition CD which will tell the story of lo-fi/post-punk/scuzz-rock label-founders, Dolium. Previously unseen, this 2002 promotional video for the track was actually recorded in late 1999 on stolen studio time at the now-legendary Axis Studios in Sheffield. The song was one of three recordings to be captured there during what was the bands first real recording studio experience, and all three recordings from that session were quickly issued as part of a compilation by Org Records in 2000.
A newly remastered version of the song will appear on the upcoming CD set, which digs deep into the history of the band and unearths the roots of Sister 9. The set will include the bands entire discography (all newly remastered by Rhys Bloodjoy in the S9 Studio), plus many unheard recordings, including their long-lost, unreleased third album, Brother Transistor!
