Watch: The Elephant Room – Fillipoff

Hailing from Dublin and, by their own admission, rooted within the realms of doing it themselves, indie lo-fi trio The Elephant Room have released their newest single, “Fillipoff.”

A melancholic track for a sunny day, “Fillipoff” is a sobering work that manages to create halcyon moments within its melodies. While melodically it may seem downbeat, the vocals give the song an uplifting, yet bittersweet quality.

Very much akin to the likes of Evan Dando or early Sebadoh with their playfully contrasts of musical emotion, The Elephant Room’s slightly rugged production quality (they are lo-fi after all) enhance the winsomeness that will no doubt make the group popular.

“Fillipoff” is available now through all good digital outlets (we’d suggest Bandcamp.)

I write words that sometimes make sense and other times don't. But perhaps in either case that will evoke some form of emotion about what I am writing. Or maybe not.
