New Track and Tour News: The Church – Another Century

One of Australia’s living legends and Backseat Mafia’s favourite antipodean exports, The Church, have just released their new single “Another Century”.

This follows very closely (in relative terms) their much lauded 2014 release “Further Deeper” and is off their yet to be titled 26th studio album.

“Another Century” is a slightly trippy, luscious drip feed of a song – a string-based introduction with singer Steve Kilby’s enticingly sexy vocals underpinned by muted back-up singing before tipping head long into the signatory Church anthemic pulse-quickening chorus.

This is a sum of many parts – each member receiving song-writing credits and all contributing to the iconic jingle-jangle sound. The track is definitely a lot more psychedelic and dreamy than earlier releases and augurs well for the album.
