Lynn Dossenbach was born in Switzerland but now resides in Liverpool where she studied Songwriting and Performance at the
Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), founded by
Sir Paul McCartney. Her new EP ‘Combination’ reflects to a great extent this unique background with the pop sensibilities grounded in Liverpool and its great musical history with a touch of European flair.
The opening title track reveals this melodic mastery – a track filled with a sense of yearning and melancholy, Dossenbach’s vocals velvet soft and expressive.
Second track ‘Anzeichen’ is sung in German and has a fairground bounce like one of those euro disco tracks you hear while on along weekend break on the continent. ‘Pressure On My Chest’ is slower, a slow burning flame with traces of The Cranberries in the delivery.
‘Hope & Dreams’ speeds up the pace again with a folkloric sparkle with its hand claps and waltzing high step and joyous expression.
Final track ‘The Toxic One’ is a self-deprecatory exposition of relationship delivered over rolling guitars.
The EP is a delightful collection of fey and wistful pop, energised by a lilting bounce and delicious vocals: an amalgam of muscular pop with a euro-blush.
‘Combination’ is out now and available to download and stream here.
