There’s a particular tension in the air tonight at the Factory Theatre — the kind that only comes when a legend returns not just to revisit their past, but to reforge it. Burton C. Bell, the voice behind some of industrial metal’s most dystopian anthems, is back on Australian soil and bringing with him a catalogue that spans the breakdown of humanity and the machinery that replaced it.

First up tonight are Sydney band, Mortality known for their blend of thrash, Death and Groove Metal, they didn’t disappoint.

Once the face — and howl — of Fear Factory, Bell’s legacy is carved in steel: from the pulverising chaos of Demanufacture to his work alongside metal icons like Geezer Butler, Al Jourgensen, and Static-X. Fresh off his induction into the Metal Hall of Fame, he’s making good on that honour by tearing through Sydney with the raw intensity that helped define a generation of mechanised rebellion.

Scroll down to see all the chaos, catharsis and crushing beauty captured from the Sydney stop of his tour.
