Live Gallery: Pigs x 7 at the Metro Theatre, Sydney 15.12.2023

Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs (stylised as Pigs x 7) are touring Australia at the moment. They are playing the Metro Theatre tonight. From the moment the band hits the stage, the crowd is thrust into a cacophonous realm where thunderous music collides with an undercurrent of wry humour, reminiscent of a psychedelic circus orchestrated by the most demented of ringmasters, lead singer Matthew Baty. It’s a surreal blend, where guttural howls meet cheeky quips, creating an atmosphere that’s as disorienting as it is exhilarating. Baty tells us that Pigs x 7’s are a talented Queen cover band and that ‘Ultimate Hammer’ is their version of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s rock ‘n’ roll in its most unadulterated form – all wrapped up in a shroud of ear-shattering decibels and a sly wink.
