Few artists have managed to capture the essence of a generation as Khalid has. The Texan singer-songwriter, who shot to fame while still a teenager, has evolved into a global pop-R&B sensation. Tonight he plays the iconic Sydney Opera House, (his first visit to Australia for 5 years,) and will be performing his highly anticipated new album ‘Sincere’ in a world-exclusive show.

Since bursting onto the scene, Khalid has become one of the most streamed artists of the past decade. His breakout hits, 2016’s ‘Location’ and 2017’s ‘Young Dumb & Broke,’ catapulted his debut album ‘American Teen’ into the charts and earned him multiple Grammy nominations. He followed this success with a series of iconic collaborations, including ‘1-800-273-8255’ with Logic, ‘Eastside’ with Benny Blanco, ‘Love Lies’ with Normani, ‘Beautiful People’ with Ed Sheeran, and ‘lovely’ with Billie Eilish.

The concert hall is packed, glancing around, I can’t spot any empty seats. The venerable Opera House has been shaking things up, making bold moves with its lineup of popular contemporary artists and tonight is no exception. Khalid emerges onto the stage, a vision in a white suit, flanked by dancers in darker hues, creating a striking visual contrast. The set is adorned with four mirrored pillars, reflecting not only the performers but also the rapturous faces of the audience. Khalid embodies an effortless cool, every gesture and smile igniting the crowd’s fervour. It’s a phenomenal show, and Sydney is undeniably fortunate to be witness such an exclusive event.
