Live Review: Delilah Bon / Valerie Rose – The Academy 2, Dublin 23.09.2023, plus gallery and set list

At a packed Academy 2 in Dublin this week, Delilah Bon worked the crowd into a frenzy from the get-go with her brand of bratty riot grrrl punk. All three members of the band seemed to give it everything, not once letting up the pace. Well, almost. For a brief moment in the set Lauren slowed things down to sing ”War on Women”, telling the audience ”I played this on Frence TV and dedicated it to all trans people out there – should i have said that on Frence TV? YES! I dont care I should have!”
At one point her band mates DJ Goldenaxe and Ruena were seen jumping up on the barrier brandishing wire covered baseball bats, and while they all spent a lot of time on the barrier, Lauren explaining ”the stage was too low in the veneue” or maybe it was just down to great crowd interaction. Either way, the night went off with a bang
Opening band on the night was rising Dublin act Valerie Rose.
