Lisbon are Matthew, Joe, Alex and Gaz, hailing from the North East and are on the verge of breaking through into the big leagues. Their music is infectious, euphoric and fits neatly into the current trend of upbeat, melodic, synth-driven pop alongside Two Door Cinema Club, the 1975 and Foals. I caught them as support act on a recent tour by the US act Saint Motel and they made a big impression with the anthemic “I Don’t Know” (their latest single), “Native” and the Game of Thrones inspired “Khaleesi”.
“I Don’t Know” continues their trajectory smoothly as another slice of bouncy, instantly hummable indie pop and is officially launched on March 30th in their native Newcastle. Their album “Life is Good” is set to follow later in 2015.
