Joining the likes of Allday and Ivan Ooze at the forefront of a new wave of Australian hip-hop is Melbourne MC Nico Ghost. Following on from his debut EP ‘Kaishi’, he’s already gained a slot at the Beyond the Valley festival and supported Wu-tang clan.

Ahead of his support slot with G-Eazy this week around his home country, Hes released his latest offering – a new single, Night Terrors. It begins with this eerie electronics, before this quietly menacing backing takes over, the alternatively almost whispered male and soulful female backing vocals offering some ting and yang. All of this allows Nico Ghost to express himself over the top, something he does with considerable skill, laying it on the line about his own processes, worries, fears and, well, night terrors.
