Dust off the glow sticks and find your most comfortable dancing shoes. Matt Okine and Alex Dyson are bringing back 5 Raves in 5 Days, ten years after their original five-night party marathon.
The former triple j duo are hitting five Australian cities across five consecutive nights, bringing some serious local talent along for the ride. Ball Park Music, Vera Blue, Ladyhawke, Baker Boy, Montaigne and Art vs Science are among the acts joining the celebrations.
The tour kicks off in Brisbane on 29 October before heading to Sydney, Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne. Each city gets its own line-up, with Sydney’s Manning Bar hosting Vera Blue, Art vs Science, The Meeting Tree, Ben from SAFIA and triple j’s Abby & Tyrone on Friday 30 October.
It’s a celebration of Australian music with a healthy dose of Matt and Alex’s trademark humour. And while the pair might be a decade older, they’re clearly not ready to surrender the dancefloor just yet.
There is one concession to getting older, though. The parties wrap up at a very sensible 10.30pm. Apparently, even ravers need their beauty sleep.
