NEWS: Belgian shoegazers Slow Crush reissue ‘Aurora’; see the new video for ‘Aid And Abet’

Slow Crush

IF YOU’RE the kinda person who likes shoegazing to be actual, y’know, shoegazing – that deep, complex bleed of guitars and thicketed, soundscapes, the one which Slowdive do in an unparalleled way – then maybe you need to become acquainted with Slow Crush, the darker perfumed Belgian band fronted by Mancunian Isa Holliday.

The band’s debut album from 2018, Aurora, was warmly received, went to its fourth vinyl pressing and sold out; the track “Glow” has racked up nearly 500,000 streams alone.

Good news for that those of us who never got their mitts on that delicious record – on March 19th, Aurora will be reissued by Quiet Panic. Pre-orders are now open for business (there’s a link at the end); and the band have made a video for the rather gorgeous, shadowy textures of “Aid And Abet” – you can watch that below, too.

Singer Isa says: “‘Aid And Abet’ is about the internal struggles of breaking habits and addictive behaviour; knowing that you have to push through and might feel worse, temporarily, before getting better.

“For the video, we worked with our talented friend Bobby Pook, of Sumo Crucial Media. We’ve worked with him on previous videos and unsurprisingly, he astounded us all with the final result.

“For those disturbed by a particular scene in the video, please keep watching until the end. Whatever you’re going through, there is always someone out there available to listen and help.

“The websites listed at the end of the video are a few examples with links to international helplines. Asking for help is never a burden. You do not have to face this alone.”
