News: CMC Rocks QLD goes big for its 20th anniversary with Brooks & Dunn and Eric Church

CMC Rocks QLD is going big for its 20th anniversary, with Brooks & Dunn, Eric Church and Ashley McBryde heading up a mammoth 2027 lineup at Willowbank.

Running from March 19 to 21, with the campground opening from March 17, the anniversary edition brings together a hefty contingent of US country names and Australian favourites. Kameron Marlowe, Parker McCollum, Turnpike Troubadours, Blake Whiten, 49 Winchester, Randall King, Lanie Gardner, Kaylee Bell and Lane Pittman are among a bill that runs deep across the weekend.

Brooks & Dunn make their CMC Rocks debut while returning to Australia for the first time in almost 20 years. More than three decades into their career, the Country Music Hall of Famers arrive armed with 20 Number One hits and a catalogue containing ‘Neon Moon’, ‘My Maria’, ‘Boot Scootin’ Boogie’ and ‘Red Dirt Road’.

Eric Church, meanwhile, is finally heading Down Under. The seven-time ACM Award winner, four-time CMA Award winner and 11-time Grammy nominee makes his first Australian appearance at CMC Rocks, bringing a catalogue that stretches from ‘Drink In My Hand’ and ‘Springsteen’ to recent single ‘On The Road’. Ashley McBryde returns for her third visit to the festival, following appearances in 2019 and 2023, this time with latest album Wild in tow.

Beyond the headliners, the 20th anniversary lineup packs in 49 Winchester, Colby Acuff, Kassi Ashton, Liam St. John, Jade Eagleson, Tori Darke, Loren Ryan, Piper Butcher and plenty more. The Songwriters Show also returns, alongside the festival’s bars, late-night country DJs, emerging artists and campground action.

From its beginnings in Thredbo in 2008 to its current home at Willowbank, CMC Rocks has grown into one of the biggest fixtures on Australia’s country calendar. Twenty years calls for something substantial, and with Brooks & Dunn returning after almost two decades and Eric Church finally making his Australian debut, the 2027 edition has certainly found a couple of compelling reasons to dust off the boots.
