Sydney rock trio Cog have confirmed the release of their first new music since 2019, with new single Walk The Line due Friday 26 September. The announcement arrives alongside a string of headline shows to close out 2025.

Kicking off in Cairns on Friday 28 November, the band will move through Townsville, Mackay, Newcastle, Caloundra and Adelaide, before wrapping with a Byron Bay date on Saturday 20 December. Cog will also appear as part of the Bird’s Robe 15th Birthday Tour, joining lineups in Brisbane (5 December), Melbourne (12 December) and Sydney (14 December).

Walk The Line marks Cog’s first release since standalone track Drawn Together in 2019. Built on buoyant soundscapes, oscillating guitars and Flynn Gower’s commanding vocals, the track has been teased as a continuation of the trio’s distinctive heavy-yet-melodic approach. Fans can hear the single early via the band’s YouTube channel from Friday 12 September, ahead of its official release later in the month.

Emerging in the late 1990s, Cog cemented their reputation with 2005’s The New Normal and 2008’s certified Gold follow-up Sharing Space, albums that helped define a generation of progressive heavy rock in Australia. Their 2016 reunion tour sold out across the country, leading to a run of singles, festival appearances and a major milestone in 2023 when the band finally regained rights to their catalogue, allowing their music to be released on vinyl for the first time.

After a near sold-out run in 2024, Cog’s 2025 plans reflect both a look back and a step forward: headline shows across the country and new music signalling a fresh chapter.
