Foo Fighters will return to Australia and New Zealand next summer, bringing their stadium-scale live show back to a region that has long felt like a second home. Frontier Touring confirmed the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will play Brisbane, Townsville, Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne and Adelaide this November 2026, before crossing the Tasman for Christchurch and Auckland, and closing in Perth in January 2027.
The announcement follows the band’s recent record-setting show at UTAS Stadium in Launceston — the largest concert ever held in Tasmania and their first appearance in the city. That sold-out night ended with a promise from Dave Grohl that the band would return before his birthday in January. This tour delivers on that vow.
Onstage, Grohl remains the kinetic centre of gravity. Reviews from their last visit captured the scale and stamina of the band’s performances: nearly three hours of riffs that feel earned rather than routine, drum fills treated like punctuation marks rather than decoration. It is that sustained intensity that continues to define the Foo Fighters live experience.
Formed in Seattle in 1994 as Grohl’s post-Nirvana project, the band has evolved into a six-piece comprising Grohl, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, Rami Jaffee and Ilan Rubin. Over three decades they have built a catalogue that bridges arena rock immediacy with the scrappier instincts of their origins.
The 2026 return also sees the addition of regional dates in Townsville and Newcastle, broadening access beyond capital cities. In Christchurch, the band will perform at the newly built One New Zealand Stadium, scheduled for completion in April.
Sixteen rising acts from across Australia and New Zealand will join the tour, handpicked by the band. It is a nod to the ecosystem that sustains stadium rock — and an invitation to arrive early.
