News: Hallie shares the wholesomeness with new single ‘Fairy Bread’ + announces new tour dates

Emerging singer-songwriter Hallie has just released new single Fairy Bread and it’s a playful, expressive, catchy sweet treat. Premiered by Australia’s triple j, the inspiration for the track came following a chaotic, party-filled period in Hallie’s life, where she found herself falling hard in a new relationship and yearning to connect with her new love interest on a deeper and more meaningful level.

Hallie says of the song: “Fairy Bread was written at the end of last year’s ‘party stage’, when I was also falling in love. I felt myself being more overcome by the person I was dating than the partying, and was craving some more damn wholesomeness. I ended up co-producing the song with my partner/the inspo, which made it even more special. I think this is my favourite and most meaningful song I’ve ever written.”

Co-produced with Paddy Wilson, the song is accompanied by a visually delicious, blackly comic, colour-pop of a video, directed by Charles Buxton-Leslie and Summer King.

‘Fairy Bread’ follows on from last year’s release ‘Sympathy’ and recent single, ‘Sydney Hates Me’, which was a light-hearted ode to the messiness of 2020. Also premiered on triple j, ‘Sydney Hates Me’ saw Hallie flex both her song-writing and production skills, in the process earning her widespread industry support. The Brisbane-native has also unveiled new tour dates for this year. Hallie will play headline shows in Sydney, Wollongong and Melbourne this June. She is also set to support Great Gable in Brisbane and Byron Bay and Hatchie in Brisbane.
