Grammy magnet and genre alchemist Jacob Collier is heading back to Australia this December with his globe-trotting Djesse World Tour – a show so expansive it practically bends time signatures.

Fresh off a run of sold-out gigs across North America, Europe, and Asia, the British multi-instrumentalist brings his technicolour live spectacle to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. And he’s not coming alone: joining him on all dates is Australian neo-soul powerhouse and Hiatus Kaiyote frontwoman, Nai Palm.

The Australian leg kicks off December 9 at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall, before touching down at ICC Sydney Theatre on December 11 and closing out at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena on December 13.

Part pop opera, part interstellar jam session, the Djesse shows are renowned for their virtuosic musicianship, massive audience choirs and jaw-dropping production. Expect a fusion of jazz, gospel, funk, folk and classical, all delivered with Collier’s signature technical wizardry and wide-eyed enthusiasm.

The tour supports Collier’s boundary-smashing Djesse series – four volumes of music that have seen him win seven GRAMMYs and notch up 15 nominations before turning 30. Along the way, he’s collaborated with everyone from Joni Mitchell to Stormzy to Hans Zimmer, and earned a rep as one of modern music’s most unpredictable visionaries.

Whether he’s building harmonies from scratch, bending genres into pretzels, or coaxing an entire stadium into singing in 11/8, Jacob Collier remains a rare thing: a virtuoso with a heart. And judging by the momentum, the best may still be ahead.
