News: Jalen Ngonda Announces Australian Tour with WILSN for March 2026

UK-based, Washington DC-born soul artist Jalen Ngonda will return to Australia in March 2026, following a triumphant sold-out debut run earlier this year. The acclaimed singer will play headline shows in Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney, alongside appearances at Electric Avenue, WOMADelaide and Golden Plains.

Ngonda, whose breakout single If You Don’t Want My Love has amassed over 145 million streams, has become one of modern soul’s defining new voices. His debut album Come Around and Love Me (2023) earned critical praise for its lush blend of classic and contemporary R&B — NME described it as “a wonderfully smooth, dramatic album of modern soul and R&B, all brought together by an exhilarating, hair-raising voice.”

Raised on his father’s Motown collection in Washington DC, Ngonda began playing organ in his local church before moving to the UK to study at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. His sound — “modern soul with a touch of the Beach Boys and the Beatles” — reflects both his American roots and British reinvention, an intersection that has drawn comparisons to Marvin Gaye and admiration from Elton John, Snoop Dogg, and Kehlani.

After sharing stages with Lauryn Hill and Thee Sacred Souls, and playing major festivals including Glastonbury, Rock Werchter, and TRNSMT, Ngonda’s Australian return marks another milestone in a remarkable rise.

Joining him for the tour will be Australian soul singer WILSN, performing with a full band and showcasing songs from her new album Bloom — a perfect complement to Ngonda’s vintage warmth and contemporary finesse.
