Live and Incubus, two of the US powerhouses of rock, will be co-headlining the inaugural Lookout Festival, plus embarking on a co-headline tour of Australia.

Lookout is a live music concert event that will celebrate the best of alternative rock with music that has stood the test of time, along with some fresh new sounds on the scene. It will take place in some of Australia’s most epic outdoor locations and the atmosphere promises to be electric. Lookout Festival will feature both Live and Incubus as headliners, alongside local favourites, Birds of Tokyo, Eskimo Joe, and The Superjesus. The Festival will kick off on 6th April at Sandstone Point Hotel in Bribie Island, Queensland. It will then move to Broadwater Parklands in Southport on 7 April, before heading to Mornington in Victoria on 13 April and Hillarys in Western Australia on 20 April.

Live first burst onto the mainstream music scene in the 1990s with their raw emotional energy and poignant lyrics. While their earlier albums garnered some attention, it was their 1994 album ‘Throwing Copper’ that catapulted them to international fame. Featuring hits like ‘Lightning Crashes’, ‘I Alone,’ and ‘All Over You,’ the album showcased the band’s unique blend of alt-rock and post-grunge sound. ‘Throwing Copper ‘will be celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2024. Over the years, Live went through various hiatuses and lineup changes but remained an iconic representation of ’90s rock, with a legacy marked by passionate performances and resonant songwriting.

“It has been way too long, and I couldn’t be happier that LIVE is finally returning to Australia for the first time in 5 years! The band and the show is so good and so strong and the fans who have seen it so far have been extremely happy! So, it was most definitely time to come and share it with our mates down under. And the icing on the cake is going to be sharing the stage with Incubus for the first time. I have always been a fan of their deep vibes, intellectual lyrics, and ground-breaking musical style. I think the pairing of our two bands is perfect in so many ways and I’m sure it will be a night to remember for all of the fans. See ya soon!”

Ed Kowalczyk

Since first coming together in 1991, the Grammy nominated band, Incubus, have consistently elevated themselves and alternative music to new creative heights. The California band’s sales have eclipse 23 million albums worldwide to date with multi-platinum and platinum certifications from around the globe. Consistently topping the Billboard charts, the band has had five consecutive Top 5 debuts and they maintain their status as a streaming phenomenon, averaging 4.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify and clocking over 1 billion-plus streams across all platforms.

“We’re excited to come back to Australia and see everyone! It’s been way too long so we’re looking forward to seeing old friends and making new friends in cities we’ve never played before! LIVE has been a band we’ve always admired, so to share the stage with Ed and company will be something truly special. We cant wait!”
