Ahead of their first festival year, The Love 4 Music Festival organisers have a modus operandi that their audience associate with well-run, easy-going events. With soul, funk and reggae music currently underrepresented in the North of England, the Love 4 Music Festival promises to give fans of this music a chance to see A-list artists perform without the need for a trip to London! The event takes place in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire on 27th May.

The organisers say “the main goal in organising this event is to provide a fun day where a wide group of different cultures can come together within the North of England. The Love 4 Music Festival 2018 will be an inaugural live, outdoor event with music from different genres.”

They’ve already announced an enviable line-up, including  Alexander O’Neal, Aswad, Omar, Gwen Dickey (Rose Royce), Janet Kay, Gappy Ranks, Carl Mcintosh (Loose Ends), Carroll Thompson, and now they’ve added Dawn Penn to that list.

Dawn Penn was born in Kingston, Jamaica West Indies. In 1993 she got an 8 year album deal with Big-Beat Atlantic Records and in 1994 and she was  back on the charts with her re-recorded dancehall version of “You don’t love me, No, No, No.  The track in on many compiliations and has topped Reggae charts worldwide and has put Dawn Penn in 86 countries of the world and climbing.  Her international success led to “No, No, No, the album to be nominated for a Grammy Award in 1994. Last Year Dawn Released her Vintage Albums 1 and 2, ”Never Hustle The Music” and a Funky House single called “City Life”.
