Tash Sultana is coming home. The Melbourne-born multi-instrumentalist has announced an intimate seven-date Australia and New Zealand tour for April and May 2027, bringing a new live show and new music back to where their remarkable story began.
The run starts across the Tasman with shows in Auckland and Wellington before heading to Australia for Thirroul’s Anita’s Theatre on May 1, Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on May 4, Melbourne’s Forum on May 7, Adelaide’s Hindley St Music Hall on May 10 and Perth’s Astor Theatre on May 13. Backseat Mafia caught Tash when she last played Sydney.
It has been quite a journey from busking on Melbourne streets. Sultana’s self-taught looping style, five-octave vocal range and ability to play more than 20 instruments have taken them to stages around the world, selling more than a million tickets and accumulating billions of streams along the way.
The 2027 tour also opens a new chapter. Sultana has new global management and agency partners, a recording deal with BMG and a new album on the way. Latest single ‘Something In The Water’ brings things back to familiar territory, pairing warm guitar and an unhurried groove with a second half that gives Sultana plenty of room to let the instrumentation stretch out.
For an artist whose live performances helped turn bedroom loops into a global career, the promise of smaller, up-close shows makes this Australian return particularly interesting. The Frontier Members presale begins at midday local time on Monday, September 28, with general tickets on sale from 1pm local time on Tuesday, September 29.
