Fresh off the release of their new album Straight Line Was A Lie (out now via ANTI-), New Zealand indie-rock heavyweights The Beths will return to Australia in April 2026 for their largest headline shows to date.

Presented by Handsome Tours, the run marks the band’s first Australian dates since their sold-out 2025 shows, and will see Elizabeth Stokes, Jonathan Pearce, Benjamin Sinclair, and Tristan Deck take the stage in Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Tickets go on sale Friday 5 September at 9am (local).

Their fourth record, Straight Line Was A Lie, is the band’s most vulnerable work yet — written in Los Angeles and self-recorded in Auckland. Across ten tracks, Stokes navigates cyclical growth, mental health struggles, and family ties with unflinching candour. Singles like ‘Metal’, ‘No Joy’, and ‘Mother Pray For Me’ pull no punches, while the title track threads the album’s raw honesty together.

Currently in the midst of a 55-date world tour across Europe, the UK and North America, The Beths are carrying their reputation for unforgettable hooks and fearless storytelling onto ever-bigger stages. Since their breakthrough with 2022’s Expert In A Dying Field, the quartet have toured with Pixies, The Breeders, The Postal Service, and Death Cab for Cutie, while festival stops at Coachella, Primavera Sound, Newport Folk Festival, and Bonnaroo have cemented their global status.

With millions of streams and a loyal international fanbase, this new Australian run will be the first chance for local audiences to hear Straight Line Was A Lie live — a chance not to be missed.
