News: Momma lock in debut Australian dates for January 2026

Brooklyn indie-rock duo Momma will make their first trip to Australia in January 2026, with Frontier Touring and Penny Drop presenting a three-stop East Coast run in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. The tour follows the release of their April 2025 album Welcome to My Blue Sky, a record that sharpened their mix of grunged-out guitars and pop-bent hooks. “We’ve been looking forward to playing this country for so long, can’t wait to see all of you <333,” the band say.

Praised for “genuine emotion and clever songcraft” (Dork, 4*) and named Album of the Week by Stereogum, Welcome to My Blue Sky captures what co-founders Etta Friedman and Allegra Weingarten call a summer of “parallel chaos”: a run of upheaval and perspective gained during a whirlwind 2022 tour. Produced by bassist Aron Kobayashi Ritch with Preston Fulks on drums, its 12 tracks lean into distortion and clarity in equal measure—hear the standout single ‘I Want You (Fever)’, which ushered in the band’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! TV debut. The record follows 2022’s Household Name, the breakthrough that saw Momma tour with Alex G, beabadoobee, Wet Leg, and line up festival slots at Coachella and Primavera Sound.

Joining them across Australia are Melbourne duo Armlock. Long-time collaborators Simon Lam and Hamish Mitchell(I’lls, Couture, Kllo) fold their electronic instincts into guitar-driven pop on new album Seashell Angel Lucky Charm, threading ear-worm choruses through tracks like ‘Fear’ and ‘El Oh Vee Ee’.

Tickets for Momma’s debut headline shows with special guests Armlock go on sale Friday 5 September. Frontier Member presale opens Thursday 4 September.
