News: The Handsome Family – UK & Ireland Tour 2015

What a year this has been for Rennie and Brett Sparks.  Before Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson starred in one of the most exciting and talked-about TV series of recent memory (all-time ? of course not, that’s still Buffy), The Handsome Family were strong, personal favourites for plenty of people; but now they’re household names.

The use of ‘Far From Any Road’, (from 2003’s ‘Singing Bones’), as the theme tune to the first series of ‘True Detective’, has launched the duo in a way that all that Americana-related coverage in the late nineties/early noughties never quite managed.

As a result, we’re going to be welcoming them back this way in March next year for a string of dates in the UK and Ireland where they’ll no doubt be maxing out on the “strange hunger” and “silent sands” of that now theme song.  I am sure we can look forward to some of the fantastic tales of last year’s ‘Wilderness’ and many more gems from their weird and wonderful back catalogue.  Book your tickets NOW.
