With founding members Lindy Morrison (legendary drummer from The Go-Betweens) and Rob Snarski (the iconic Black Eyed Susans) at the helm, and joined by ‘Evil’ Graham Lee (The Triffids, The Blackeyed Susans), Shane O’Mara (Rebecca’s Empire, Chris Wilson, The Silversound) and Dan Kelly (Paul Kelly, Dan Kelly & The Alpha Males), the supergroup SnarskiCircusLindyBand (SCLB) today announces the release of their debut album ‘what’s said and what’s left unsaid’ for 26 September. And to sweeten the announcement, the louche single ‘You’re So Adorable, featuring the vocals of French-Australian art pop indie enfant prodige Lili Alaska has just been released.
With a glam stomp beat and a fuzzy guitar spine, Alaska’s vocals exude an insouciant cool – distant, observant with a disassociated tone and a sardonic undertone. The knowing intelligent lyrics add to the lustre:
Combining tracks from an earlier EP and five new songs, ‘what’s said and what’s left unsaid’ , released via Teardrop Records through MGM, promises to be an exciting release. You can order it through the link below, including a vinyl version:
In addition to the guest lead vocal on ‘You’re So Adorable by Lili Alaska, the album includes lead vocal and violin appearances from Amanda Brown (Go-Betweens) and a lead vocal from Romy Vager (RVG). Other artists Rebecca Barnard, Jodi Phillis, Jack Howard and Adam Hutterer provide vocal and instrumental performances.
Album launches in Adelaide and Melbourne have just been announced, with more shows to come.
