Premiere: Austrian artist Tanzos provides words of comfort in the shining track ‘Nevermind’

Having played in one of Austria’s most successful indie bands Zeronic (with supports for New Order and The Kills), Tanzos is forging his own path, releasing a solo album back in 2017 and now with a new single, ‘Nevermind’ to be released on 29 January 2021 – which Backseat Mafia is honoured to premiere today.

Tanzos’s voice is gorgeous – a sharp-edged baritone that is mellifluous and emotive in tone, passionate and expressive. It has the edge and impeccable manner of David Bowie or Matt Berninger from The National with an insouciant and cool style. The song itself is a melodic reflection with its chiming guitars, driving rhythms, mountainous chorus and themes of comfort. As Tanzos says:

I guess everyone struggles with feeling like they have missed out on opportunities from time to time, whether that be small or big ones. Sometimes, a simple ‘nevermind’ coming from a friend might just be what you need to hear in order to let go and to untie the knot.

This is empowering stuff, wrapped in a luscious and rich musical coat:

‘Nevermind’ is out on 29 January 2021 through the usual download/streaming sites.
