Premiere: Cate Ferris – Keep Going

Brighton-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Cate Ferris wanted to offer some solidarity and hope to all of us either stuck inside or working on the front line in the battle against Covid-19, so she is going to make a download of her new single ‘Keep Going’ available for free download on Bandcamp for one month from release on Friday 1st May. We are absolutely delighted to premiere it right here on Backseat Mafia this morning.

Of the song, Cate says “for obvious reasons during Lockdown, this song, Keep Going, really needed to be off my computer and out in to the world. It was not originally going to be a single, but I feel like it’s an important thing for people to hear and to to remember to stay open hearted in this scary, heartbreaking and lonely time”.

Keep Going is this rather beautiful slice of perfect (synth)pop, with popping guitars and tumbling synths intermingling with electronic ticks and dots, (lovely) vocal harmonies and this bassline that almost turns you inside out at times. Keep going people.
