Premiere: Filippin releases the beautiful alt-pop of Disgrace feat. Runah

“There are no rules. This is how DISGRACE is born. Go against the rules or ignore the rules to innovate”, so says 21 year old Italian DJ / composer / producer Filippin (real name Lorenzo Filippin) of his new track Disgrace, which we’re delighted to be able to premiere on Backseat Mafia this morning.

He’s drafted in Irish singer Runah on the vocals, and its this stylish, shining slice of alt-pop. Not just that though, as there’s nods towards house music here and synth-pop there as Runah’s soft, syrupy vocal pours itself into your ears, the pop hooks clawing their irrationally lovable tentacles in as it ebbs and flows, stops and starts.

“I had to do something new, that stood out from the usual pop songs” Filippin told us. Mission accomplished.
