We’re delighted to premiere the new single from Lucy Dreams – Know My Number this morning here on Backseat Mafia, and equally delighted that they are currently recording an At Home Session for us, which will be live on our YouTube channel in the coming weeks. It’s an project of two producers and an AI vocal (nicknamed ‘Lucy’) from Vienna, and the sound experiments and songs were thought of as ‘Lucy’s Dreams’, hence the name.
Of the track, Lucy Dreams say “Know my Number explores the nature of existence. Musically and lyrically the song is the soundtrack for both mankind and machines’ quest for knowledge. We want to be an entity that encourages people to think critically and push reality. Don’t we all want to know where we come from and where we are going? Lucy does.”
Know My Number is this bubbling slice of indie driven synth-pop, with melodies that demand you attention, and glittering synths accompanied by wiry guitar lines and this warm bassline. as it unfurls, so things bleed together into this warm (indie) pop sauce, that pours over your ears and into your mind, where it’s likely to stop for quite some time.
