Premiere: Norway’s Vilde Tuv searches for ‘Solace in the Sun’ on celestial dance-pop delight

2025 is shaping up to be a good year for Bergen-based Vilde Tuv. Not only has she scored The Ugly Stepsister—an excerpt of the score was released in March—but she’s also indicated a new solo album is on the way, heralded by the arrival of ‘Morning Wind‘ last month.

Today, Tuv shares the crescendo-driven beauty of ‘Solace in the Sun’, the second new track from her in little over a month. It’s got enough power behind it that the song gets to coast without any sort of release for three minutes, and even then that’s over as soon as it began (though this could be a single edit). Regardless of form, the song’s a certified stunner. Here’s Tuv on the song: I listened to a lot of dance music of the 90s with female vocals, profound and existential lyrics, doubled with intense emotional music. I was intrigued by this poetry which really didn’t hold a high status, but still was waterproof in how they held the greatness of the themes they were singing about. The song mixes song structure of a folk song but with sounds and themes remembering another time and place.”

‘Solace in the Sun’ is out tomorrow via Poesy, and we’re delighted to offer you an advance listen to a special song. Tune in below.
