Premiere: The Summertimes unveil their paean to Sydney in the glittering single ‘My Beautiful Girl Harbour’.

We are very honoured to bring you an exclusive look at the video for the third single from The Summertimes‘ radiant self-titled album (recently reviewed by me here).

‘My Beautiful Girl Harbour’ is a soaring, shimmering track – surfing like a dolphin on the wake from a Sydney Harbour ferry, coasting on a bed of jangling guitars with delicious harmonies and backing vocals that pop with a radiant power. The band says the track is:

…a paean to Sydney’s water and light, the song’s lush layers could be the sonic equivalent to a Brett Whiteley painting – all the while reminding us to slow down and take everything in.

The accompanying video just shows you what all the adulation is about – sparkling scenes from one of the most beautiful harbours in the world in all its glory. The scenes capture the iridescent light that is emitted from the track – the mesmerising water, the bridge, the dramatic urban landscapes that fringe the harbour and the iconic boats and ferries that ply their way around the harbour.

This track is a panacea to the dark and troubled times we face. The new single will be available everywhere to be downloaded and streamed tomorrow (Tuesday, 14 November 2023) and, of course, you can get the album through the link below:
