PREMIERE: You Said Strange return with ‘(Song For A) Wasted Land’, announce new album

Toward the end of 2021, Giverny-based quartet You Said Strange released the first part of their second album Thousand Shadows, which followed up 2018 debut Salvation Prayer. We didn’t hear much from them last year, certainly not in the form of new music, but Vol. 1 implied the existence of a Vol. 2, so it was a question of ‘when’ and not ‘if’. Thankfully, that question’s been answered.

Due at the end of April, Thousand Shadows Vol. 2 picks up where its predecessor left off, and the French band have also shared the album’s shoegaze-tinged lead single ‘(Song For A) Wasted Land’, which we’re premiering today in the form of its music video, in which band leader Eliot Carrière suffers an existential crisis, realising the world he so cherished has become a nightmarish disaster. You know, standard music video fare.

Check that out below; Thousand Shadows Vol. 2 arrives Friday April 28th via EXAG/Le Cèpe Records.
