Arlo Parks has released a brand new video for her track, premiered as it was, as the Hottest Record on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 Show. It’s the follow up to her recent lauded single Black Dog, which has received almost 10 million streams worldwide.
Of the new track, Arlo says “‘Hurt’ surrounds the possibility of healing from pain and the temporary nature of suffering. It is supposed to uplift and comfort those going through hard times.”
It has the same soft indie soul of Black Dog, her echoey vocals and woozy accompaniments fusing together to create this soothing melancholy, the sporadic flute and spoken word interlude just decoration for the engaging melodies and moods she creates.
