See: Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains release new visuals for Coucou

Following on from the announcement that Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains will be releasing their new album Banane Bleue on 26th February 2021, they have released a new video for lead track Coucou.

An emotive and warm slice of indie/electro pop, Coucou explores themes of misunderstanding, relationships ending and the nuances of the French language, with Frànçois saying “I hate this word, “coucou” (which loosely translates as ‘hey there’ in French), because, for me, it expresses a form of indifferent, slightly fake naivety. What’s even more absurd is when it comes from someone with whom you were once madly in love.”

Although there’s a sense of melancholy about the track, there’s also this sense of hope and warmth and with its singalong chorus (no French needed, trust me), it’s also impossibly likeable and melodic.
