See: Jupiter Cats release video for A disengagement party

Balaclava clad London alt-rockers Kupiter Cats are preparing for the release of their first album ‘The truant’, out later this month (the 17th, to be accurate) on Foof records, and it’s preceded by a single, A disengagement party, which is out now as a free download.

Almost like two songs welded together, it’s joyous, melodic alt-rock at the beginning, full of twisting guitar riffs and something approaching Red Hot Chilli Peppers covering the Beatles, before it embarks on this 60’s influenced Latin shuffle, with a fantastic organ solo thrown in. Luckily, both elements possess memorable melodies, and it holds together as a single entity without too much difficulty.
