WAX MACHINE are a name you really ought to scribe on your albums wants list if you like your guitars, pyrotechnic; your spectrum, fully rainbow; your flutes, trilling.

They released their debut LP, Earthsong of Silence on Beyond Beyond is Beyond in March, and it swirls with the psych colours and neckerchiefs of a London welcoming Hendrix to melt heads. Go Kurasawa of Japanese flower-power heads Kikagaku Moyo was setting the controls at the mixing desk.

And they’ve just released the video for “Truth”, a plum cut culled from the album. It’s loose and swaggering, its hands trailing colours in acrobatic movements. The guitar ranges through disciplined, meandering fuzz funk and a tickle of the wah-wah; Isobel Jones has the gracious psychedelic queen detachment of Grace Slick in her Surrealistic Pillow pomp, or Dorothy Moskowitz of The United States of America.

Singer-guitarist Lau Ro explained: “We wanted to freely explore the juxtaposition between the heavier and more relaxed sides of our sound.

“Go Kurosawa encouraged this approach, as well as playing one of the guitars on the recording.”

With an eye on the future, Wax Machine have also announced a European tour for this autumn, the dates for which are as follows:

September 5th, Le Bistrot, Le Havre, France;
September 8th, Le 3 Pieces, Rouen, France;
September 9th, Le Scene Michelet, Nantes, France;
September 11th, Bar Chez Moss, Chateaubriant, France;
September 12th, The Pepper Stage at Le Point Carre’, Angeloume, France;
September 16th, Schalander, Kusel, Germany;

September 21st, Chaff, Bruxelles, Belgium;
