Track: Bass artist Alex Thesleff releases the pulsating techno of ‘Timeflow’

Taking inspiration from the likes of Sigur Ros, Godspeed You Black Emporer, Aphex Twin and more, Helsinki born and based bass artists Alex Thesleff is releasing his new single, ‘TImeflow’ tomorrow (August 20th) on the Cashir Label. Most well known for his track ‘Bad Karma’ which soundtracked the Adidas Faster Than campaign and received over one billion plays.

Of it, he says “My latest single, ‘Timeflow’ is an introspective techno banger that takes the listener on a ride through the very fabric of spacetime. It features a poem I wrote and narrated by voice-over artist extraordinaire Jonathan Hutchings. This cross-arts piece articulates the fleetingness of the present moment as well as the mysterious nature of the future and the obliviousness of the past. It’s a constantly evolving and metamorphosing adventure that shifts through a mutating landscape of lush chords, pulsating bass, thumping drums and gritty synths as well as cascading melodies and evocative cadences that bring the listener to the point of sheer vertigo and catharsis in the end.”

Building from an almost static start with the focus on the poem, Timeflow bubbles along, with these almost charming melodic keyboard figured and increasingly urgent pulsating beats and pads underneath. Shards of electronic noises take over as the whole thing becomes more hard edged, until it peters out to a close.
