Track: Benny J. Ward demands you ‘Tell Me Tell Me’ in a vibrant ball of fuzz that clatters and jangles with a louche aplomb.

Perth’s Benny J. Ward is a busy chap – if he’s not fronting the psych jangle pop maestros Rinehearts and punk outfit LEECHES!, he has half a dozen other projects on the boil. Lucky for us, he is also dropping a bundle of solo work on us and ‘Tell Me Tell Me’ is first off the block. This is a vibrant, fuzzy piece of pure psychedelic garage pop that jangles along with a sprightly if not slightly wonky step and an arched eyebrow. Poised, slightly anarchic and a whole lot of toe-tapping joy.

Ward says of the track:

I’m really proud of this song. It just came out really quickly, and I think it’s a lot of fun. I can’t wait for people to hear it.

Charmingly, Ward enlisted his 10-year-old son, Sonny J Ward to create the animation for the video clip to ‘Tell Me Tell Me’: a joyous riot of monochromatic movements and shapes:

‘Tell Me Tell Me’ is out now through the irrepressible Cheersquad Records and Tapes and available through the link below:
