A defiantly optimistic Chapter and Verse, have shared their new single ‘Something in the Water’. Recorded almost entirely from their bedrooms, the track is the result of the band trying to push their artistic boundaries and doubling down on their explorative side.
The band comments:
“We’re so well connected nowadays that it can sometimes feel like there’s nothing but bad news; like there’s always a new calamity waiting round the corner. ‘Something in the Water’ is a song about defying the sinking feeling that can give you. It’s about understanding that there are practical things that can be done to free yourself from that state of mind.”
Shimmering verses with hard edged synths draw you in before the band pummel you with the heavy bass and solid drum beat on the chorus. The track brings intelligent pop vocals wrapped in a heavy melodic package. One for the playlist on these summery days.
