So unless your of a similar age to myself, Welsh indie poppers The Darling Buds may just have passed you by. It has been a quarter of a century since their last material, but the wait (at least for those of us who have been waiting) is over, with the release of and EP, Evergreen, on Odd Box Records. From it they have released a song, Complicated.
It’s this irresistable slice of indie pop, infectious rather than….well, complicated – it sparkles and bounces, sprinkled with vocal harmonies, driving drums and little shards of guitar chords. Over the top there’s just enough melancholy to make your heart skip a beat. The EP will be released on a limited edition 10″ EP and Cassette. There will be 100 green vinyl EPs and 400 in traditional black vinyl. There will be 100 released on cassette!
