Hailing from the rural Norwegian countryside is your new favourite neo-soul act, sassy 7-piece Fieh. Founded by front-woman Sofie Tollefsbøl, Fieh received early support for 2017 debut single Glu, earning props from many industry tastemakers before bagging a hallowed spot on the FIFA 20 soundtrack. Debut album Cold Water Burning Skin came along in 2019 and established their unique blend of jazz, R&B and soul. Now, with a new LP waiting in the wings, listeners can hardly wait for what’s coming next.

Telephone Girl is dedicated to the modern phenomenon of telephobia. Tollefsbøl jokes; “This song is a public apology to everyone who’s ever tried to call me. It’s not you, it’s me”.

On the accompanying video by Nikolai Grasaasen, Tollefsbøl says: “Warning: This video contains orange snakeskin pants, guitar solos in the desert, girls drinking highly toxic pink drinks and dangling telephones around and other depictions of a day in the life of a NON-Telephone Girl. You could start your new telephone free life today too – just stop answering those calls. Had a lot of fun with this one, many shoutouts to Nikolai!”

“I’m not a telephone girl, that’s why I never reply when you call me” -Fieh

Forthcoming album In the Sun in the Rain was recorded with acclaimed Norwegian musician/producer Lars Horntveth (Jaga Jazzist, Susanne Sundfør, The Staves, Kimbra) and mixed by the legendary “Analog Ninja” Russell Elevado (D’Angelo, Angélique Kidjo, The Roots). With groove at its heart, the album integrates the experimental funk bangers that initially defined the band. Inspired by such diverse acts as D’Angelo’s The Vanguard, The Roots, Joni Mitchell, Erykah Badu, The Beatles and Solange, Fieh’s new album is wonderfully creative in its portrayal of everyday life, people and love.
