Korean-Australian producer, artist and DJ nabii is leaning further into the emotional immediacy of club music with new single ‘in my room!’, a hyperpop-infused dance track that balances high-energy production with something more reflective underneath. Released via Ascent, the track captures a sense of openness and youthful optimism without losing sight of the emotional complexity running through much of her work.

Built around bright synth lines, pulsing beats and elastic vocal hooks, ‘in my room!’ feels intentionally unguarded. There’s a sweetness to the track, but also a sense of reclaiming joy rather than simply chasing escapism. Speaking about the single, nabii describes it as “the ultimate pop song” written for her younger self, rooted in the idea of rediscovering wonder and emotional honesty as an adult.

That perspective sits at the centre of nabii’s broader sound, which moves between hyperpop, club music and more introspective songwriting. Rather than treating dance music purely as release, her tracks often frame the club as a space where vulnerability and catharsis can coexist. ‘in my room!’ continues that approach, turning everyday moments and emotional shifts into something expansive and physical.

Away from the studio, nabii has steadily built a reputation within Australia’s electronic scene through immersive live performances and a growing festival presence. Sets at venues including Max Watts, Miscellania and The Howler, alongside appearances at Beyond The Valley, Pitch Music & Arts and For The Cause, have positioned her alongside artists such as DJ Heartstring and CAIVA as part of a newer generation reshaping contemporary club music.

Earlier this year, nabii was also named a winner of The Blueprint Project, an initiative spotlighting emerging Australian electronic artists. Alongside her music, she continues to run AngelFM, a platform dedicated to amplifying BI-POC fems and underrepresented voices within the scene. With ‘in my room!’, she steps into a new phase that feels both more immediate and more emotionally transparent.
