Manorism have released Something I Can’t See, their first single of 2026 and an early indication of the direction they’re taking ahead of a debut album expected later this year.
The track sits at the intersection of indie and alt-country, carrying a measured, melodic approach that has become central to the band’s identity. Built around a steady tempo and a restrained arrangement, it develops gradually, allowing each element to settle rather than compete. That pacing gives space to the song’s central theme, a reflection on memory, absence and the difficulty of defining what comes next.
The band frame the song as a coming-of-age moment, shaped by the absence of someone significant and the process of understanding that shift over time. It’s handled without overstatement, leaning on detail rather than broad gestures.
The single was developed in collaboration with Malcolm Besley, whose ongoing work with the band has moved into a more integrated role. Recorded during a period without external pressure, the track was allowed to take shape incrementally, with ideas building from a simple chord progression into a more layered final form.
Since emerging from Melbourne’s local circuit, Manorism have built their profile through consistent live work and a steady run of releases. Performances alongside acts such as Ecca Vandal and L-Fresh The LION, as well as festival appearances including Beyond The Valley, have contributed to that growth.
