Out on June 14th via the ever brilliant Innovative Leisure label is ‘Turkey Dinner’, the debut album from LA-Trio Pinky Pinky. From it they’ve released a new track, Mr Sunday.
The track is a swooning slice of warm indie rock. There’s something faintly sad about the song, with the vocals leaving us in no doubt that Mr Sunday ‘don’t love me’, ‘treats me bad’, although as it breaks down into this rather lovely chorus, which comes over all Dexys with its brass chords and organ shimmering in the background as the ladies find their melodic feet in spectacular fashion.
