Track: ‘Uh oh’ Gut Health Share New Single

Gut Health

Naarm art-punks Gut Health have dropped a new track, ‘Uh oh’, and revealed that a new 7” – Gut Health Singles ’23 – is on its way via Marthouse Records.

Pre-orders for the 7” are available now via Bandcamp. Stream ‘Uh oh’ HERE.

The new track comes with a message and advocates for kindness and compassion. It has a punchy and punky vibe, all angular guitars it’s is an electrifying fusion of Bikini Kill’s raw and playful ferocity with Blondie’s iconic new wave grooves.

“People weave narratives that align with their own experiences, prejudices and insecurities. Personally, being worried about what other people might think has been my Achilles’ heel, and it used to descend me into catastrophic thinking. It’s a bunch of pressure to put on yourself, and a waste of precious energy. Gut Health has helped me navigate through this.”

Athina Uh oh

Accompanying the new single is the ’80s trash horror-inspired clip for ‘Uh oh’, a video produced in-house by Athina’s production company Eye to Eye Productions and made alongside friends Bonita Carzino (DOP), Felix Adsett (co-director) and Kate Mcwilliam (mua).

It’s been a very busy time for Gut Health they have supported the Black Lips and Mudhoney and local icons Cash Savage and the Last Drinks and Body Type. They’re soon showcasing at SXSW and playing with both RVG and Japanese femme-punks Otoboke Beaver, before closing out the year with their debut appearance at Meredith Music Festival.
