Australian indie favourites Vacations have released ‘I See Myself In You’, the second single from their forthcoming album Pursuit of Anything, arriving October 2 via Nettwerk, as the band prepare to return home for their first Australian tour in two years.

The release follows lead single ‘Holy Grail’ and arrives just days before the Newcastle quartet embark on a national run of dates, beginning in Perth and concluding with a hometown performance in Newcastle. It marks a welcome homecoming for a band whose profile has continued to grow internationally through relentless touring and an ever-expanding global audience.
Written by frontman Campbell Burns, I See Myself In You grew from a conversation with his parents in Sydney before returning to New York. The track reflects on family, growing older and recognising the parallels between generations, capturing the quiet emotional observations that have increasingly become a hallmark of the band’s songwriting.
Those themes continue throughout Pursuit of Anything, an album that explores ambition, identity and the changing nature of adulthood. Drawing on Burns’ experiences moving between Newcastle, Los Angeles and New York, the record examines the tension between chasing creative aspirations and watching life unfold differently for the people left behind. Produced by Burns and mixed by Beatriz Artola (Geese, Caamp), the album finds the band broadening their sound while maintaining the dreamy indie-pop sensibility that has defined their rise.
Since forming in Newcastle in 2015, Vacations have evolved into one of Australia’s most internationally successful indie bands. With more than 3.5 billion streams, sold-out tours across North America, Europe and Asia, and performances at festivals including SXSW, Austin City Limits, All Points East, Kilby Block Party and BottleRock, the quartet have steadily built a devoted worldwide following without losing sight of the intimate songwriting that first set them apart.
With I See Myself In You, Vacations offer another thoughtful preview of Pursuit of Anything, while their Australian tour provides local audiences with their first opportunity in two years to see one of the country’s most globally recognised indie acts back on home stages.
